In light of the upcoming election, I’d like to say a few words about what’s at stake for women.
A message to women before the 2024 election.
Body of HER
Daughters of America-
Your Grandmothers raised their voices
so you would never have to be
pregnant and alone
they bashed the glass above their heads
-so you could birth your best works-
Women of heart,
women of vision,
worked and cried and prayed for you
to write, teach, shape the culture
Our Grandmothers
for so many centuries unseen
worked under men’s names
fed babies and the ambitions of HIM
Young women be warned,
salacious eyes do not regard
the souls of life bearers,
generation builders-
the care it takes to keep whole
the body of HER
Daughters remember
who came before us
that our liberties were,
by burning protest won
we must shape our futures
do not leave it to the hands of men.
